SpiceJet operates 16 All-Women Operated Flights across India and abroad
  • These 16 flights operated with all-women cockpit and cabin crew
  • Morning shift of SpiceJet’s Flight Support Centre (the operational nerve-centre of the airline) also handled by all-women team
  • Women crew members also engage with customers throughout the day through an interactive twitter chat

Gurgaon, 8th March: SpiceJet celebrates International Women’s Day by operating 16 all-women crew flights across India and abroad.

The first such all-women crew Bombardier Q400 flight, SG 1, took-off from Chennai at 0040 hours bound for Colombo, under the command of Captain Aarti Pushpala, Cabin crew-in-charge Sheeba Singh, and their all-woman crew. The first Boeing 737 flight, SG 401, operated from Mumbai to Hyderabad at 0505 hours, under the command of Captain Bhakti Bagaria, Cabin crew-in-charge Nazya Parveen, and their all-women crew. These two flights are being followed by 14 additional all-women crew flights throughout the day. The morning shift of SpiceJet’s Flight Support Centre, the operational nerve centre of the airline, was also handled by an all-women team led by Aditi Chauhan.

In another unique initiative undertaken to celebrate the spirit of womanhood, the airline today handed over its official twitter handle to four of its selected women staff. The staff including two Captains Anushree Varma and Shriya Srivastava, and two Cabin crew members Suranjana Charaborty and Akansha Srivastava, are engaging with the Twitterverse in a live interactive chat sessions throughout the day, answering questions about women in aviation.
